'Could Not Find An Editor For H (.) files' Error RRS feed

    I came across this problem and saw loads of suggestions which didn't work for me. What did work was the following;

    Options, Mail format, at the top it says compose in message format, i changed this to Rich text and this then allowed me to use the advanced edit, 

    which it didn't before. Thank god, i was getting really annoyed.

    Faced the same Problem with Outlook2003 and Win7 Pro / 64bit.

    None of the proposed Solutions found on the Web worked for me.

    Finally I had to set a registry key manually:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.htm\Shell\edit\command

    with the Standard value set to:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\winword.exe" "%1"
