I do not have an identical machine to get these files from either.

    also I can't install this update -

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800b0100: Update for Windows (KB980248).

I would greatly appreciate any help.

  • Hi Kevin,

I’ve extracted those missing files from the update package KB980248.

For your convenience, I have created a workspace and uploaded those missing files to it. You can download the files from the following link. (Please choose “Receive files from Microsoft”)

    Workspace URL:               https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=a591efc1-ef4a-403a-8dd4-af62c1a08e0b

    Password:                           EFcYHZahf!SBBjy

Please download the files and replace them under %windir%\servicing\Packages directory.
