Integration SCOM with VCOPS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We want to monitor ESXi from SCOM as there is no MP for this we enabled SNMP traps on vCenter towards SCOM and we discovered windows vCenter as a network device through SNMP. Discovery was successful but we are not getting any events from vcenter except "Trap Received (Cold Start)" event, hence we dropped this method.

Now, as VCOPS is exist in the environment we are planning to integrate VCOPS with SCOM .

Could anyone tell me how we can integrate VCOPS with SCOM to get the VCOPS alerts in SCOM.

SCOM Version is 2012 R1 and it is deployed on Windows server 2012,

    VCOPS is installed on Linux

    Regards,

    Chandra

  • Not an answer on your question, but you stated that there are no MPs for monitoring vCenter using SCOM. You can, there is a really good management pack available from Veeam. It's not free, but it's a very good management pack. In the past they had a moment that they offered 10 node licenses for free, but haven't seen that for a while.
