Same site, different versions of Sharepoint. How can this be? RRS feed

  • Question

  • On the one site (which I've updated with the latest CU --, I get two DIFFERING reports as to what the actual version is.

This is usually a recipe for misfortune, so before it gets out of hand, I'd better try to find out what's wrong and fix whatever it is.

The reported version I get from <subsite>/_layouts/settings.aspx is what I expect:

However, the HTTP host header MicrosoftSharePointTeamServices reports

Evidently, there's something wrong, but what would it be?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi Josh,

This isnt unusual I just looked at 2 SP2007 environments and they didnt match... A better method is to use a SQL Query right Cick the ConfigDb and run teh following command

For the issue, here is an example query:
    SELECT Version, TimeStamp FROM Versions
    WHERE VersionId = '00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000'

and match the results to site settiongs of your CA, if you have more than 1 result , the first line is the ci=urrent and the additional lines are what has been deployed to the environment..
