UAG 2010 RTM (Eval) - setup fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

Setup fails on a clean 2008R2 Std english server when the TMG-installation reaches 100%

Here's the closest I have come to a reason - the installwrapper log (ISAWRAP_928.log):

    (...)
    11:15:14 INFO: Installing Additional components...
    11:15:14 INFO: Activating Extration of SQL Express 2008 SP1 Package, command line args = '-s -f "C:\Windows\temp\{68FD77DF-F2E0-42DC-9F92-2E6DEE7F0425}" -e'
    11:15:14 INFO: SQL Express 2008 SP1 Package path is .\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\SQLE\SQLExpress2008SP1.exe
11:15:29 ERROR: Setup failed. Error returned: 0x2
11:15:29 ERROR: Extration of SQL Express 2008 SP1 Package failed. hr = 0x80070002

Setup rolls back after this, ending with:

11:16:14 ERROR: Wrapper: Install failed, hr = 0x80070002
11:16:14 ERROR: Wrapper: DoSetup failed, hr = 0x80070002
11:16:14 ERROR: Wrapper: DoSetup failed, hr = 80070002
11:16:14 ERROR: Extraction os SQL Express 2008 SP1 Package failed. Return value: SETUP_ERROR_SQL_PACKAGE

    (...)

Computer is domain joined, user is Domain Admin, Schema Admin and local machine Admin. 2 NIC's

    Any ideas?

  • Hi!

My solution was to extract a fresh copy of the ISO - i had copied the origial download first from my computer to a share, then from the share to the Hyper-V host, then attached the ISO to the Hyper-V guest. Somewhere in there the ISO got corrupted. To be shure I mounted the ISO on my computer with a ISO-tool and copied the contents directly to the D:-drive inside the Hyper-V guest. Then the installation was successfull. I didn't change anything else anywhere.

I recommend downloading the ISO again if you deleted it from it's original download-drive.

    Cheers!

  • Hi again!

I found this post about corruption in the ISO - a fresh extract of the ISO solved it.

  • I have exactly the same problem.

disk space is not the problem 40 GB should be enough.

the difference is, that I have a Enterprise version of the windows server.

    Any ideas?
