Can we use SharePoints already Indexed data for crawling RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I want to Get List of all latest modified documents from SharePoint document library programatically. I want to get this information by crawling the already index data by SharePoint. I dont want to crawl by using SP object model.

    can I do this?

Thanks, TusharG [There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't]

  • Is there a particular reason you do not want to use the object mode? I think you will get much more uselful info from it rather than FAST. Not to mention it will be much simpler to program. I already have the PowerShell code to this, so let me know if you want it.

  • Hi Tushar,

Can you explain the use case a bit more? If you have crawling set up in one for or the other, you can accomplish this by executing a search as a user who has access to all the content in SharePoint.

Your other option is to look at the SharePoint change log. Take a look at the documentation on MSDN: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb447511.aspx
