Do I need forefront client on my exchange server RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi,

we are planning on installing Forefront Security for Exchange on to our exchange server (), but I was wondering if we should also be deploying the Client security to the server as well, or does the exchange security software cover the client?

If I need the client installing as well as the exchange component does that tend to indicate that Forefront client should be deployed to EVERY desktop and server in the domain?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Graham,

Yes, you should install Forefront Client Security on your Exchange Server. Forefront Server security for Exchange only covers your email scanning. Forefront Client security will complement that with protecting the OS and filesystem.

When you install FCS on the exchange server you should also follow these instructions to set the proper scanning exceptions.

    Good luck!
