What are the backup and restore limitations? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community

Recently I have read something that I never thought about.

Can SQL Server backup and/or restore  a database that is 4TB or larger?

        Thank you

Answers

  • Yes. It will take some time of course, all depending on your hardware.

I don't know the exact size of the biggest SQL Server database out there, but I believe it extends beyond 1 PB = 1000 TB.
