  • Sharepoint 2003 cannot be used in this manner.

Sharepoint 2010 can be installed on Windows 7, may I ask why you wish to do this though, ideally you would install it into a fully functional domain to exploit its functionality.

What are you trying to achieve?

    Kind regards, Kev

  • SharePoin 2007 - No
    SharePoint 2010 - Yes
    SharePoint 2013 - No

The only version of SharePoint that supports a developer installation on Windows 7 64 bit version is SharePoint 2010.  You can find a detailed walkthrough of how to install it on my blog here:

But this installation type is only supported for use by developers.  You can't host a production SharePoint environment on Windows 7.  And you can only install it on the 64 bit version of the OS.  Also, this capability was removed from SharePoint 2013 because it depends on the new Server App Fabric Cache.
