Databases size and log file size reset!!! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am using this for the past months to tune my databases...

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/fcsnerds/archive/2008/09/25/fcs-with-mom-2005-database-guidance.aspx

But it seems the databases sizes and log files sizes are reset or shrink and the sizes are back to their original size which works for a week or two ...

Does the installation of FCS got some tasks running in the back automatically shrinking the DB & logs?

    Thanks,
    Dom

  • FCS/MOM has no jobs that change the physical size of the DB/Transaction log file sizes on the disk automatically so if this is happening it's probably something else.  There are plenty of other jobs that move data between the 2 dbs onepoint->systemcenterreporting but none that change the actual db size on disk.  I would recommend opening a case under software assurance if you have it for the product and talk to an engineer about issues you are having with this to see if we can take a deeper look at what is going on.
