Operation Failed when adding Administration and Monitoring Website & Self-Service Portal RRS feed

  • We have completed the configuration of the Database, Monitoring and reporting server. As we are trying to register the SPN to the application pool user , we hit an error that the SPN  could not be validated.

    Here are the steps taken to resolve the issue.

    Check AD account
    Check the Registered SPN on the app pool account
    Remove the SPN from the app pool account during a rollback operation
    Re-add the SPN to the app pool
    Add the App Pool account to Local Policy>User Rights Assignment>Impersonate client after authentication & Log on as batch right but we had an error upon the configuration which says “Cannot connect to the SQL Server Instance”.
    We then remove the App Pool Account from Local Policy>User Rights Assignment>Impersonate authentication & Log on as batch right.
