STSADM Restore Error

Question
-
Based on the thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-MY/sharepoint2010general/thread/c5c8ee31-acb6-4c43-b6d1-b3003e4b03fa we have upgarded our content DB. But when we are trying to take the STSADM backup from a 14.0.6029.1000 Farm and putting in same or different farm having 6029 build the error is coming saying that it needs to be restored to higher version.
So do we need to run any specific PS command etc after attaching the DB?
Please reply ASAP as we have a production deployment tomorrow and we are struck.
thanks

Hello
The issue is sorted. For this particular content DB we have executed Powershell command Upgrade-SPContentDatabase and now we were able to take the STSADM backup and retore it.
thanks

Actualy the source and destination server farm versions should be same. Even one of the farm is major or minor then it dont work at all(Even the destination is major veriosn then also it throws the error).
I faced same issue then solved by applying same latest version on both source and destination server farms.
Hope this will help you.

Thanks for your quick reply. We even tried to restore the STSADM in the same server even then it is throwing the same error. I am just thinking is there any additional step which needs to happen in terms of running any command (PS, STSADM or PowerShell)
Thanks

Hello,
Based on your description - you have upgraded old farm to 6029 but unable to do backup-restore.
On old farm, please ensure that you have completed the upgrade process. Execute
psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force
Make sure that this process is successful. You can look into schema of your content db to ensure that you have upgraded content db in the old farm correctly.
For more information on psconfig command, please read here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263093.aspx
