TMG - Cannot access some particular sites RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am testing Forefront Threat Management Gateway (ISA 2010) in my enviorment. I am facing an issue with some particular websites (with hyphen). It's throwing up the following error while browsing from a PC.

    Technical Information (for support personnel)

    • Error Code 11001: Host not found
    • Background: This error indicates that the gateway could not find the IP address of the website you are trying to access. This is usually due to a DNS-related error.
    • Date: 8/10/2010 5:29:34 AM [GMT]
    • Server: XYZ.ABC.com
    • Source: DNS error

    Appreciate if somebody can assist.

    Brgds

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

Before going any further, I’d like to confirm the “web filtering”- do you mean URL filtering in TMG? If does, this may be the network or performance issue. It only affects requests for sites in which a site’s URL filtering categorization is not cached on Forefront TMG; requests for sites in which the categorization is cached on Forefront TMG, and sites in which Forefront TMG applies a URL override, are unaffected. To troubleshooting this issue, please refer to this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff358603.aspx

  • Hi

This was a DNS related issue which got rectified by creating a route on the proxy server.

But I am having slow response issues while enabling Web Filtering in TMG. Hope somebody can assist.
