how to add custom file type in office 365 ?

    Question

  • At work we use various file types.
By default only MS-office documents are supported.
I want to add a few more file types, those dont have to be indexed by their content.
I just want to be able to use sharepoint as a storage for other files, and see those nw icon types.

The problem is that if sharepoint doesnt know a certain file type is, then the document library is showing for a file type "the full name of a file" !, and thats a problem, as it brakes table views, since then a table thats normally the width of an icon suddenly becomes as width as the full text of that file (that is name + extension !!!)
