MDT wont start up after OS install, and change of drive letters. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

i boot my machine via drac, virtual media, the letter that is assigne to virtual drive is F: for cd/dvd rom.

once the os is intalled machine boots into os, and virtual cd rom drive gets letter as F:, as per my standards F drive should be my disk drive. if i chenge the drive letter of my cd rom drive to z:and  reboot mdt wont start as now is has no refrence to f: cdrom drive.

can any body suggest hot to handle this issue?

  • If you don't use DRAC it would probably not be an issue.

Logs are very important. https://keithga.wordpress.com/2014/10/24/video-mdt-2013-log-files-basics-bdd-log-and-smsts-log/ Mention any customizations you have made.

  • Yeah I don't know how to make that work.  I have heard of other people having a similar issue with DRAC virtual CD. You could try PXE boot.
