  • Hello,

i tested replication traffic, no errors found. Can  gmail pop3 service be  not suitable for shadow redundancy?

    Hi,

No, shadow redundancy will accept all types of messages that meet that three major determining factors.

If you don't want this feature, you can disable this feature according this document.

  • Hi,

First of all, refer to this document to understand Shadow redundancy.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351027.aspx

Where and when the redundant copy of the message is created depends on where the message came from and where the message is going. There are three major determining factors:

    • Messages received from outside a transport high availability boundary(DAG in your case).

    • Messages sent outside a transport high availability boundary.

    • Messages received from the Mailbox Transport Submission service from a Mailbox server within the transport high availability boundary.

In your case, shadow copy of POP3 messages are created based on the second factors. Shadow copy of health messages are created based on the third factor. Then the shadow copy for messages is retained in the Shadow queues until that message is replicated to all DAG members. And these messages look normal for me, especially the health messages.

I suggest to check the aspects of replication for mailbox server in DAG, because the messages are not replicated to all DAG members.
