Ports Required To Register with ISATAP W2K8 R2 Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, All.  I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 server that is functioning as an ISATAP router.

Does anyone know what ports need to be available (open) between the client and the server in order for the client to register an IPv6 address?

I've looked everywhere and reviewed plenty of RFCs, but can't seem to get this answered.

I do understand that protocol 41 is required for encapsulated IPv6 packets to get routed along the network.  However, this is not what I'm referring to.  I'm referring to the intitial communication before the client actually attains its IPv6 address from the ISATAP router, which in this case is a Windows Server 2008 R2 server.

Many thanks for any thoughts or ideas...
