Word Starter - USB Drive

Has anyone else seen this problem

If you work on a document off a USB Thumb drive (Memory Stick) and try and "Safe Remove" it. Windows tells you it's still in use and can't be ejected.

I've done a bit of digging and looks like it's down to the process officevirt.exe still running even after Word Starter has been closed. Once the process is closed the drive can be ejected.

Any ideas on a proper fix? i've created a Kill shortcut to kill it before ejecting but this shouldn't be happening.

The fix is to only work local.

You should never work directly from a flash drive or cloud drop box. That is unless you don't mind putting up with the limitation you found, file corruptions and a whole host of other nasty consequences. :-)

Thanks. Yeah this is a customers machines and i've never seen the problem before so was just wondering if it's just Starter that does it.
