Exchange 2010 Autodiscover not working internally RRS feed

  • Question

  • We just setup our first 2010 CAS/HUB server, coexisting with a 2003 environment, but are unable to get a clean test of Autodiscover for Outlook 2007 clients.

When running a Test E-Mail AutoConfiguration we get the following in the logs:

Attempting URL https://mail1.abc.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscoverxml found through SCP
    Autodiscover to https://mail1.abc.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml starting
    Autodiscover to https://mail1.abc.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x800C8203)

    Autodiscover to https://domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml starting
    Autodiscover to https://domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x800C8203)

    Autodiscover to https://autodiscover.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml starting
    Autodiscover to https://autodiscover.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x800C8203)

    Local autodiscover for domain.com starting
Local autodiscover for domain.com FAILED (0x8004010F)

    Redirect check to https://autodiscover.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml starting
Redirect check to https://autodiscover.domain.com/Autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x80072EE7)

Srv Record lookup for domain.com starting
Srv Record lookup for domain.com FAILED (0x8004010F)

At this point we're only worried about internal autodiscovery.  The SCP exists and is correct.

    Any thoughts?

  • I don't believe you can use Autodiscover against the Exchange 2003 mailboxes, no.

  • Hi,

Autodiscover will not work for legacy mailbox even though it's still trying to connect Autodiscover based on the order in Outlook 2007.

    Thanks

  • Have you created internal DNS entries for mail1.domain and autodiscover.domain and point them to your CAS IP address?  HAve you replaced the self-signed certificate on the CAS server with a public or one from your internal CAL and enabled that cert for the IIS service?  Can you browse the the URLs referenced, if so any errors or certificate errors?

  • Hiya,

I notice you've mentioned that you've installed a CAS/HUB server. But, have you installed an Exchange 2010 mailbox role yet and moved a mailbox to Exchange 2010 and tested against that?

  • I created a 2010 mailbox, and the autodiscover does work with that account.

I imagine there must be a way for autodiscover to work against the mailboxes on 2003?  I was told by MS that the only necessary piece is the Outlook 2007 client, and that the mailbox location did not matter.
