  • Can't you contact your Network Administrator to do this from AD MMC?

  • As out of the box, this can't be achieved in sharepoint. You may have to contact AD/System Admin to get this done.

  • You maybe have a helpdesk for this situation, contact that first,

What you want to do is not standard.

Another thing if your computer is associated to a domain,  normally ask you to renew the password.

  • Did you try creating a HttpModule, Refer to the following code from CodePlex http://iisadmpwdhttpmodule.codeplex.com/

I'm currently working on the same task using the HttpModule.

Update: The HttpModule is working fine with Integrated mode IIS 7.

  • So you're using passthrough AD authentication? Is it the same account you use to log into your machine? Or is it a special SP account? If you're logging into your pc I'd assume it's a special AD account. is this correct?

Do you have Hyena or another AD administration tool, and permission to and/change AD?

  • i wrote a custom membership provider so it is possible now to login with an ad user or an user stored in the sql db on the same site

that means you dont have to use an intranet site and an extranet site

but the membershipprovider has no methods like "inform when password is expired" or something like that

if the user logs in now and the password is expired or wrong he gets the same message

so i want to do this: i want to override the validateuser method and check, if the password is expired or not; if its expired, i force the user to change it

i will check this hhtp module, but i dont believe it is what im searching for :)
