SharePoint online search

  • Hi,

we have column "keyword" that has some value for each document. when trying to search with those values not getting the result. So I created a managed property and mapped the crawled property of the "keywords" column to it.

After 4 hours still no result for the "keyword" columns value. Is there anything I am missing to do ?

  • Hi

Once you mapped any new property a Full Crawl is required.

You have to raise it with Microsoft to run a full crawl for your content sources

  • I think there is no concept of full crawl in SharePoint online.

  • Hi spadminspadmin,

When we have changed a managed property, or when we have changed the mapping of crawled and managed properties, the site must be re-crawled before our changes will be reflected in the search index. Because our changes are made in the search schema, and not to the actual site, the crawler will not automatically re-index the site. To make sure that our changes are crawled and fully re-indexed, we must request a re-indexing of the site. The site content will be re-crawled and re-indexed so that we can start using the managed properties in queries, query rules and display templates.

Here is an article about how to manually request crawling and re-indexing in SharePoint online:

  • Hi spadminspadmin,

Have you checked if you are mapping the correct Crawled Property to the Managed Property? The Crawled property to be used should start with ows_<property name without space>.

If you have added the values to the column in the document library then try to re-index the document library or as Linda suggested you can re-index the site.
