MS Outlook 2003 won't send email on Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried everything it seems.  I have SP3 for Office 2003, double-checked all settings in email account, and verified that same settings work on computers running other versions.  Is there a known fix for this?  Ox8004210B is the error (timed out waiting for response from server)

  • This would be a setting is not right or a third party program (firewall / A/V) as outlook 2002 / 2003 both work fine with windows 7.

Go back over your settings, check your A/V is it scanning outbound email.
is there an attachment?? If so how big..do you have messages in the outbox? if so delete / move them.

Have you spoken to the email admin?? He / she should be able to view the logs and see if any error shows up there.

If you are sure you have a clean system you could try to Disable any mail scanner you have.

    Other things to try
Lengthen the server timeout value on the Advanced tab of your account  properties pages, if you're using a POP/SMTP account.
Lengthen your send/receive interval in the Send/Receive Groups dialogue.
