The wrong application name may be displayed when accessing an Application Virtualization 4.5 Server from a Server Management Con RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • The wrong application name may be displayed when accessing an Application Virtualization 4.5 Server from a Server Management Console on a remote computer

    Symptoms

    =============================

    When applications are renamed in the Application Virtualization 4.5 Management Server MMC, the updated name is not reflected in an Application Virtualization 4.5 Management Server MMC that is installed on a remote computer that is also connecting to the same configuration database.

    Cause

    =============================

    When Virtualized Applications are renamed from the AppV 4.5 Management Server MMC, the configuration database is updated with the new name. The AppV 4.5 Management Server MMC does not check the Database for the new name when a refresh is committed.

    Resolution

    =============================

    Close and reopen the AppV 4.5 Management Server MMC.

    Repro Steps

    =============================

    1.   Setup an Application Virtualization 4.5 Management Server.

    2.   Import some Virtualized Applications

    3.   Connect to the Server from the Server Management Console on another server.

    4.   Open the Server Management Console on the local Server.

    5.   Expand the Applications node and rename an Application in the list.

    6.   Go back to the server that is accessing Appv Server remotely and refresh

    7.   Check the name of the Application that was renamed.
