  • If you look in the FIM Service installation folder, I believe there is a tracelog file for this that might be helpful.

  • As Brian already states provide relevant parts of trace log file.

    Beside that I assume it occurs because your DB name is not FIMService, for MIM there is currently a new hotfix which correct that issue when upgrading to a new hotfix of MIM, but there is no hotfix for FIM.

    You should contact FIM support maybe they have a fix (if its a bug in FIM also).

  • Johnny-come-lately here. I had to fix this same problem while upgrading from FIM 2010 R2 (4.1.3766.0) to MIM 2016 RTM (4.3.0.0/4.3.1935.0), but I couldn't find a download for the config file that was mentioned in a few articles. I merged the files from SP1 and RTM and posted a download link on my blog (shameless plug). Hopefully this helps someone else.
