error when viewing datasheet in SharePoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a question regarding the SharePoint Services on SBS 2003 Standard edition. I use the Share Point as my Intranet. It has all my document library, Contact list, etc

Because I'd like to be able to access to the Intranet outside the office, I created a DNS name for it namely http://myintranet.mycompany.com.au:33055. This will point directly to my server SBS 2003 standard edition.

The problem I'm facing is I got the following error when viewing my contact list in "Datasheet" view via the DNS above

Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available

However, when I type into the IE browser "http://myfileserver:33055", I do not get any of that error at all. This is very strange.

I have also set on my modem router to allow the port to get through. I can not think of any other causes that cause this error. I wonder if there are any workaround for this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance

  • SharePoint gets published on port 444, can you rerun the ceicw and just let it do it's thing?
