Are there security risks involved with using older versions of Windows?

Question
-
Hi,
I currently have a workstation that is running Windows Vista Business 32-bit SP2. I always install the latest updates, and use Norton 360 for internet security. Does running Windows Vista make my system vulnerable to potential security risks, as opposed to running a newer version of Windows, such as Windows 7 or 8?
Any feedback is very much appreciated!
Thank you,
- Jacob

As long as you keep your Windows Vista operating system up-to-date with Windows Update and use a good security program (as you are), you will be fine.

Thank you,

I would suggest you also consider adding / using Malwarebytes.
{Free version available if you so choose}

That coupled with your existing Security should stand you in good stead.
Make sure everything is regularly updated.{including Windows}
Scan regularly too.

JMH3143,
Thank you for your reply!
I don't know much about Malwarebytes, but I will definitely look into it.
I usually keep everything updated, and scan regularly too.
Thank you,
