Timesheet for Manually Scheduled tasks RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am using Project Server 2010. I need to know how to manage timesheet for Manually Scheduled Tasks coz it wont let enter the hours against the manually scheduled tasks. How to calculate the work done on manually scheduled tasks.

    Thanks,

  • Fahad,

Unfortunately, Manually Scheduled tasks are NOT supported in a time-phased tracking method. Looks like this is fixed in SP1 being released in June.

Until, then the only options I see are:

    1. Change the tasks mode to Auto Schedule (or)
    2. Stop using Single Entry Mode, and apply a different tracking method to report on through 'My Tasks" (or)
    3. Have PMs Enter time manually into Project Pro (which kind of defeats the whole purpose)

I think Option 1 is the best one for now.

  • Hi fahad,

SEM, single entry mode, is the new enhancement in the PS2010. where user do not have to fill the same data to two different windows i.e. timesheet and my task page. now using the SEM enabled, user can only fill in the hours in my-timesheet OR my-work and the data will flow to the other automatically.

you can go through this to know about this great feature:

    hope this helps.
