Notification upon task deletion RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm working on Project Server 2010. The 'Alerts and Reminders' is "switched on", and team member are free to customize their notification on Web App--> Settings --> Personal Settings --> Manage My Alerts and Reminders.

Some users have defined themselves to receive no notification. However, they receive notification regarding deletion of tasks in the Gantt.

I'm wondering why is that; why they receive notification though they marked not to receive any.

Anyways, I am not aware of where to mark specifically regarding deleted tasks notification. Do you know where it is located? Can it be that deletion of a task is always sent to the resource, and there is no way to block it (other than "switched off" the ‘Alerts and Reminders' or deleting the resource’s email address)?

Just to clarify, also 'Manage My Resources' Alerts and Reminders' is marked no to receive any notification, and each of the resources are defined as their assignment owner.

    Thanks,

    Y.

If you study the two options for e-mail notifications from Project Server 2010, you will notice that neither of them deals with deleted tasks.  The first option is a notification for only new tasks in a project, while the second notification is for schedule changes on current tasks.  Deselecting these two options will stop e-mail notifications about new tasks and schedule changes, but they will NOT stop the e-mail notifications about deleted tasks.  Truthfully, I think that the deleted tasks notification is a good one, and I would not try to stop these types of e-mail messages, if if were me anyway.  So, to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to disable the notification e-mail messages about deleted tasks.  Hope this helps.
