Recommened Global Update Manager setting for single site Hyper-v Cluster

    Question

  • Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows the recommeded value for the Global update manager cluster setting for Hyper-v and if it would be safe to change this to option 0? The link below says option 1 - Majority (read and write), was set as default to improve the performace of multi site clusters.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn265972.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396#BKMK_GUM

My Hyper-v enivorment is currently having issues with multiple crashes and I would like to change this to option 0 - All (write) and Local (read) as i think this may be a potential cause. I found the below articles which make me think that SCOM and SCVMM may be causing high number of reads of the cluster DB, which in turn may be causing cluster issues.

    Yes , the default/recommended value for hyper-v cluster is 1 .

But , you can change it to 0 for troubleshooting (it mentioned windows server 2012 cluster , all workloads are using mode "0") .

    Best Regards,
