Use Power Query to get the members of Shared Mailbox through Active Directory RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there - I'm wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this. I've had a look through previous threads but haven't been able to find anything.

I'm hoping to use Power Query to identify Shared Mailboxes on our domain, and to show who is a member of each mailbox. Is this possible? I'd like to see the SamAccountName of each member if possible.

Is this something anyone can help with?

    Cheers,

    Charlie

  • Hi Charlie,

This is more about identifying information in active directory that will aid in determining what you have asked for than how to use Power Query.

Based on my research, attribute "msExchRecipientTypeDetails" determines the type of mail box.  msExchRecipientTypeDetails with value 4 corresponds to "Shared Mailbox".  You will need to write Power Query that will use this information as well as the structure of your active directory to locate and compare the msExchRecipientTypeDetails attribute value.
