Can not contact the server error when trying to schedule a Skype for Business Meeting in outlook 2016 RRS feed

  • Question

  • When attempting to schedule a meeting via the Outlook desktop client for Windows (installed via office.com) the user receives a an error stating "can not contact the server"  Their normal mail works fine, and they CAN schedule a Skype meeting using the o365 or their phone.  Have tried a quick repair and full "online" repair of Office, but the error persists.   Any suggestions?  Outlook refers to Outlook 2016 desktop client for Windows, and is running on Windows 10.

  • Hi ProDisplay,

    To further troubleshoot the issue, please confirm the following information:

    1.What is the detailed version of Outlook?

    2.Do users with other office versions(2013,2010) have this issue?

    3.How many users in your organization have this issue, all or special user?

    4.If you set your account in another computer, does the issue persist?

    5.What is your environment topology? (online, on-premise or hybrid environment).

    Please first check if you could sign-in successfully using Skype for business client on the machine;

    And if the problem occurred on a specific client, please try to do the following ways.

    1.Please update the Outlook 2016 client to the latest version and make a test.

    2.You also could uninstall the Office 2016 follow this thread and re-install it
