No Audio Output Device is installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Seems to be a common question. No Audio Output Device Installed. Of course it's Vista on a Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop. I've tried everthing too. Need some help. Thanks, Jeff  (631-433-8037) or poolkeepers@aol.com or POST.

  • This worked for mine:  Do a System Restore and choose a date when the sound worked.  Two options:
    (1)  Reboot, before Windows starts loading press and hold F8.  Choose "Safe Mode", click Start, Help and Support, search for "System Restore".  Click "System Restore:  frequently asked questions", click "How do I start System Restore?", click "Open System Restore", click "Next", choose the restore point (scroll down).
    (2)  Reboot, F8, choose "Repair Your Computer", choose "Restore System", etc.

    Hope this helps --- Larry

  • Installed vista service pack this morning - now I have this problem and I tried your solution Ace - it didn't fix my problem.

Also my MSN icon has disappeared from my tray ...couldn't find it in my programs and just had to reload it.

Any ideas would be appreciated - thanks!

once again I think about how nice it would be to have a mac......
