Hi Sandy,
The "Delete" option deletes the agent from the SCOM Database, but the agent remains installed on the server/computer. This is often used when the server, which you are deleting will be decomissioned and you don't have to uninstall the agent first.
The "Uninstall" option uninstalls the agent . It is used when the server will be kept and you only ned to remove the agent from it.
Hope this clarifies the options.

Hi,
What is the error?
My random guess at this point is that the agent might not be "remotely manageable" from console as it might have been installed manually. You should try changing it to remotely managed first:
How to get your agents back to “Remotely Manageable”
Hope this helps

Hi Sandy,
what does the log actually say? Can you please check it and post here the details?
Have you checked the agent? Is the service running?
Thanks in advance for the details!

Still not getting what the error is. Please paste a screenshot.
If the agent shows as "Yes" in "Remotely Manageable" it is probably installed from console. If not, then manually.

Hi Sandy,
please post the content from the log, but only the last entries.
About the agent. When you navigate to the Agent Managed section in the Device Management (SCOM Console -> Administration) you can right click the columns and display the column "Remotely Managable". Theere you will see it.

Hi,
Here is a query to see agents which are installed manually:
SELECT DisplayName, IsManuallyInstalled, InstallTime, Version, IsAgent, ProxyingEnabled FROM MT_HealthService WHERE IsManuallyInstalled IS NOT NULL ORDER BY IsManuallyInstalled DESC, DisplayName

So what will be the effect if the agent entry is deleted from SCOM Database
from : Sandy

Hi Sandy,
simple: you won't have the server/computer in SCOM anymore, so it won't be monitored, but still an agent will be installed on the system.
As a consequence this agent will try to report to the Management Server it has been configured with and eventually appear in "Pending Management" in your console.
