  • Question

  • Hello, We have a problem with an Windows XP SP3 system. Updates are continuous in an loop. Tried to install updates through automatic updates and through Microsoft Update website, updates are installed but the proces after reboot start all over again, so the same updates are presented again. Is there any way to solve this issue?

If it's .NET simply run the .NET remove utility from microsoft - (remove all .NET)..then install from microsoft updates site (high priorities only) until all .NET that is required is re-installed..will take several reboots of installing .NET and it's patches..

  • Are the updates all particular to .NET or are they just all available updates??

I would repair the wmi on the system, this has worked to fix this issue on systems for me -

    Windows XP and Windows Vista

    From a command prompt:

    net stop winmgmt

Using Windows Explorer, rename the folder %windir%\System32\Wbem\Repository

    net start winmgmt

    For Windows XP

Click Start, Run and type the following command:

    rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository
