Migration to embedded SQL

Question
-
Hi,
I am currently in the process of moving a client's database from a separate SQL instance to an SCCM installation using the embedded SQL standard instance.
Are there any guides for moving to the embedded sql instance ?
The client is hell bent on switching to the embedded SQL instance, so unfortunately there is no way around it.
Thanks in advance !

So you just want to move the SQL database from a remote server to a SQL instance that's installed on the site server? This should get you started: http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2013/04/02/how-to-move-the-configmgr-2012-site-database-to-a-new-sql-server.aspx

Btw you can remind them that they will be required to buy SQL licenses if the SQL server is not exclusively use for cm12.

I mean on the same server as the sccm instance by embedded. I'm sure they're trying to cut costs by having standard sql on the server.Monday, August 3, 2015 5:17 AM
