FIM 2010 R2 provisioning Exchange 2013 mailboxes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Not so much a technical question as just a general one! Just wondering if anybody has attempted to provision exchange 2013 mailboxes with the new version of exchange? If so what luck have you had?

  • Never tried it and I'd guess not supported yet; give my PowerShell MA a go and see if that'll do the trick - http://blog.goverco.com/p/powershell-management-agent.html

  • I never use the exchange provisioning tickboxes anyway, preferring to run a post-export script that finds people without mailboxes and adds them. I expect you could do something similar with 2013.

  • Seconded.  A post-export script tends to be more reliable as FIM can get "stuck" sometimes on a transient failure.  Plus you can customize your own script with often-necessary actions like setting a retention policy.

  • When will the patch to support Exchange 2013?

  • I've posted some sample scripts, that work with my PSMA for handling EX2013 mailboxes - http://blog.goverco.com/p/psmadownloads.html
