SCCM Management Pack (5.0.8239.1010) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does this MP support installations with a passive site server? We're seeing a lot of red but no failures, and 2 sites, with one of them always red (I don't have SCCM access, so I don't know if it is the passive one or the active one).

For now I just want to know if it should work seamlessly, if there's something we need to do to get it to green, or if this scenario breaks the MP, as the MP documentation doesn't seem to mention active/passive site server setups.

  • Hi,

In theory it should as the MP is quite updated, but not sure how far it goes into picking up the other new roles such as the Passive site server.

Are there any attributes or discoveries in the authoring tab that pick up the passive site server? if not then most likely doesnt pick it up

  • As we've dug into this deeper, it is picking up 2 sites, but we only have one site, and it sees each site server as hosting the one site. It's generating a number of errors, strangely, on the active site server, as opposed to the passive one. It's only generating a couple there, but they do not appear valid.

  • Thing is that management pack really works as a forwarder of all of the System Status and Component Status of the monitoring tab within SCCM, and sometimes it is a hit and miss with the synchronization of when SCOM pulls them in as alerts. Has been like this from earlier versions.

If its showing both the Active/Passive site server as two seperate sites sounds like its working but not merging them together as two sites, might be something to raise with microsoft as a future development.
