Updating Laptop Sign in Credentials for Domain Account RRS feed

  • Trying to have all members of the company switch to AD logins on their computers. We allow users to change/reset their passwords through AD manager, but when the laptop is not connected to the DC, it does not update the login information. Currently, if a user forgets their password out of the office and resets it themselves or has support do it, the credentials can only be transfered to the laptop through a convoluted method.

    It requires users to login to a local account on their machine, connect to the VPN,  start an application such as Chrome as the other user, then log back out, and finally sign in to their domain account with the updated credentials.

    I'm curious if there are any other known ways to achieve this that may be simpler for users to perform.
