I reinstalled wsus 3.0 SP2 according to Microsoft procedure. Now when it try to start the Update Services service i get the following error in App events

In System events i get this errors:
A process serving application pool 'WsusPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the World Wide Web Publishing Service. The process id was '6988'. The data field contains the error number.
and
Application pool 'WsusPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.
I used this to reinstall .net framework 2.0 sp2

I would suggest completely uninstalling WSUS, IIS, and .NET Framework v2.0 and reinstalling the .NET Framework v2.0 using the full installer, rather than doing a repair installation.
Then install IIS and WSUS.
Question (perhaps quite relevant): Why were you reinstalling WSUS?
