Keep Styles Pane open RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using the Styles Pane to mimic a toolbar.  I have hidden all the styles users don't need to see, and only display styles I want users to easily apply to style their documents.  Is there an easy way to force the Styles Pane to remain open with every document AND a way to size it so it is the least obtrusive?  Maybe even floating.

    Thank you.

  • Displaying the Styles pane is easy using a pair of auto macros:
    Sub AutoOpen()
        Application.TaskPanes(wdTaskPaneFormatting).Visible = True
    End Sub
    Sub AutoNew()
        Application.TaskPanes(wdTaskPaneFormatting).Visible = True
    End Sub
    However, I don’t think there is a way to resize the pane, using code. But I could be wrong.
