Windows 10: set Language preference to en-US, but keyboard layout to nl-BE RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm creating a reference image for Windows 10 enterprise and don't know how I can set the language to English (United States) while the input method is set to nl-BE.

I know the existence of UserLocale, UILanguage, KeyboardLocale, InputLocale and SystemLocale in the customsettings.ini and unattend.xml file, but I just can't configure it correctly.

I can, however, configure it manually in Windows. But how can I configure it during an unattended deployment?

The reason why I want it like this, is that I don't want the app names in Dutch, I need them in English. But on the other hand, I want the keyboard configured as Azerty, not Qwerty.

Does somebody know how to configure this?

  • Hi,

We are trying to achieve the same thing for our Windows 10 build. However we are able to work it out on our Windows 7 one by doing some registry tweaks. But in in case of Windows 10 it is keep on switching to ENG (US) keyboard. We want to achieve English as display language and Finish as our default keyboard layout. But user should be able to see the list of keyboard layouts available in system tray Attached is the screen shot of the required setting:-

It would be really help if you could assist us in this case as it is becoming a show stopper for us.
