Hyper-v Failover Cluster RRS feed

  • Question

  • Consider the following...

    1.  4 Nodes running windows server 2012 r2 connected to san

    2.  The os drive is a file residing on cluster volume on san

If I pull the plug from any of the nodes, will hyper-v failover guest vms to a next node (deplending on the failover scheme) without restarting the guest vms?  If not, is anything  more recent capable of doing that?

    Thanks in advance

  • As far as I know, in case of a power outage you will always face a VM reboot in Windows. Only VMware has true VM FT.

  • What is the official name for VMware VM FT?

    Have you actually used it?
