Managing Windows 7 backups - Standard user? RRS feed

  • Is there any way to allow for standard users to manage backups in Windows 7?

  • Thank you for your prompt replies.

    If standard users aren't able to manage backups, is there a way to configure Windows Backup and Restore to just maintain one backup? The user's that I support keep filling up their external hard drives because of backups piling up on eachother.

  • Navigate to Computer Management, expand Local Users and Groups. Under Groups, you should see Backup Operators. Add the standard user account to this group and he should then be able to manage system backups.
