  • Question

  • Dear all,

I'm in my way to backup an SQL 2 nodes guest cluster of an Hyperv cluster.

I need to fidn out whats the best way to go in terms of SQL VMS, mean backing up as VMS or baking up as regular machines with bare-metal recovery ?

as per SQL DBs , I'm acctually backing all dbs by dpm cleint.

    Thanks in advance

  • If i understand correctly the issue:

you have 2 VM each one hosting a node of a SQL Cluster.
In that case i would advise to backup on a weekly basis the BMR of these 2 guests (or perform VM level backup).

And also perform a SQL Backup using an agent installed inside the guests.

This will be give you the possibility to loose only 15 min of data (for the SQL Backup) and restore the machine in case of a major crash.
