  • But as you have mentioned after running psconfig command everything works fine and you are able to access central admin, right ?

If yes please check the server versions from CA > Operations > Servers in farm , it must be on 12.0.0.6514

  • Hi Bhakti,

The backup is taken from 12.0.0.6514 version and destination version is 12.0.0.6421.

To get rid of this update destination server version to 12.0.0.6514 which will resolve this issue.

Latest version can't be overlapped on older but older can do this.

Doing the cumulative upgrades (hotflix or perhaps hot flick is not the same as a hot fix!) that Pratik suggests gets you to a different level of version number.

You do NOT need to re-install SharePoint. Do a cumulative upgrade (or adding hot fixes) simply means that your existing SharePoint system is upgraded to a later version. It is then immediately available for use.

  • How many servers you have in the farm ?

try to please upgrade all the servers in a farm.

If he site hosted on the server with 12.0.0.6421version then its showing the version.

But originally you tried to attach Content DB from 12.0.0.6514 to this one so now this serevr is upgraded and now try to attach content DB.

  • The OP has started a new thread here

    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/42138427-26e1-4f5d-a46d-e6a034f9f2eb

on this same issue of restoring a SP backup.

So as the OP has already marked a post in this thread as the answer, I'm locking the thread to avoid duplicate effort from forum readers.

(Normally I would merge threads on the same topic from the same person within the same time period but this thread is already 18 posts long and does already have a reply marked as answer by the OP.)
