  • Question

  • Hi,

I am migrating SPS 2003 (with SP3) to MOSS 2007 (SP2). I am using gradual upgrade method as we have huge data(around 500GB).

Once I started Upgrade. Tried to migrate the Portal ( "/" ) first, the migration failed showing up the below error. Please throw your insight on the error. Thanks in advance for your comments.

  • Hi,

sounds like you don't have the "publishing" feature activated, or that the upgrade didn't succeed in enabling it.

    Enable publishing features:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointserver/HA101577721033.aspx

If you get an access denied message when you try to activate the publishing feature then follow this steps:

Change the Application Pool of the web application:

    1. Open IIS mgr
    2. Go to the properties of your WSS web application and select the ‘Home Directory’ tab.
    4. Change the Application Pool to be the same as Central Administration.
    5. IISRESET
    6. Activate the Publishing Infrastructure feature on your site.
    7. Change to Application Pool back to what you had before.

Also take a look at this link about service accounts!

Plan for administrative and service accounts (Office SharePoint Server):
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263445(office.12).aspx

    Best regards,
    David Hu
