SharePoint Task List as Fixed Work and not Fixed Unit RRS feed

  • Question

  • My SharePoint Task List connected to PWA is creating as a Fixed Unit.  This is causing scheduling issues with resource availability.  I realized that when opening the task list in Project Professional that it is opening as a Fixed Units.  Can this be changed to Fixed Work so work will not update if duration changes.

  • Hi,

Just tested it and indeed if you set the task as fixed work in Project Pro, you can change the due date (finish date) in the sharepoint list. It changes the task duration/start/finish dates but keeps the work as is.

    Hope this helps,

  • I can't seem to get the tasks to show up with an option to change to Fixed Work.  The option is grayed out and set to Fixed Unit in Project Pro.

  • This is because it is manually scheduled. Switch the tasks to auto scheduled and you'll be able to change the task type.

    Hope this helps,
