Faulty message when burning CD

    Question

  • When I burn a disc I receive a message saying 'Windows has encountered a problem while burning files to disc.' In fact, there is no problem, the disc has been burnt successfully. How do I stop the message coming?

  • Hi,

Please check if there is any event created in System and Application of Event Viewer.

Please try to use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to check system files and recovery corrupted files, here are steps:

    1. Open Command Prompt (as administrator).

    2. Type sfc /scannow, and then press Enter.

Is you use Windows Media Player, please try to use build-in troubleshooter.

    1. Type troubleshooting in search box, then press Enter.

    2. Click View all on the left panel.

    3. Click Windows Media Player Settings -> Next.

And you could also try to reinstall Windows Media Player to see if the issue still occur.

Please also check if the PC is up to date. (Type Windows Update in search box, then select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates.)
