Point registered domain to company server? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello there!

So, my dad got a domain registered at 'yourwebhost', there's also a website hosted by them on this domain. Let's say it's called company.com. So they registered the domain and also host a website.

Now i've got a problem, that is that my dad got a physical server at his company and everytime we want to connect to vpn or anything we have to type the IP and that sucks, the domain controller is company.local and that just sucks and we want this to be .com also.

How can i assign/point the domain www.company.com to our physical server at the company, instead of www.company.local WITHOUT stopping the website hosting from 'yourwebhost'.

I'm really stupid when we're talking about domains and stuff, thanks in advance,

    Marc.

  • I suggest you don't mess with it, because this is High Tech stuff.

Ask the web host provider to assist with it, or hire an IT PRO.
