Timesheet corruption - how to fix? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

        After users have completed their timesheets some are presented with:

    View Failure

    The view failed to load. Press OK to reload this view with the default settings. Press Cancel to select another view.

    They press OK and the message repeats itself .. and the contents of the timesheet are not present in the reporting schema.

    The ULS log shows the following relevant errors:

    Watson bucket parameters: Microsoft Project Server 2013, ULSException14, 070f6ea0 "project server", 0f001181 "15.0.4481.0", f2c6a20e "", 0f00119c "15.0.4508.0", 5148560a "tue mar 19 22:41:54 2013", 00000008 "00000008", 0000005a "0000005a", 09312e13 "faultexception`1", 00101621 "aeby7"

    Error is: GeneralUnhandledException. I have had users delete their timesheets and re-create them but this keeps occurring, even for timesheets that have been approved.

    The Farm is all patched up to the latest and greatest October 2013 CU. (15.0.4551.1001)

    I could use some ideas here.

  • It seems the real error is:

    System.InvalidOperationException: GetDataForAssignment: Did not find data for assignment. ProjUid=ca87454a-49bb-48af-991a-ebd0bcc47370 AssnUid=75781399-cadb-4ff9-8fc8-c2ff4ded436d

    Other posts in this forum suggest that there is an update for this but we are already past that fix version.

    Interesting behaviour with this error:

     - If the user recalls their timesheet, they can access it again.

     - If the user delete's, recreates and resubmits the timesheet then its okay for the user however the timesheet manager gets the error:

    "One or more categories of approval could not be loaded"

    We are facing the same issue, is there any patch or solution to workaround it?

  • Often I fix issues with timesheets by DELETING the timesheet and recreating.  Seeing that this is happen across many users, then I feel like a custom field was removed.

    Did you happen to add new custom fields to the Timesheet view?

    Did you delete the custom fields and not remove from view?

    Have you also tried, running the browser in compatibility mode?  Make PWA as a trusted site?

  • Hi,

    This issue is addressed in August 2014 CU for Project Server 2013.

    Looks like some of the recent Status Updates might have not been applied on the projects. Please run the below query in the Project DB

    pub.msp_projects PROJ,
    pub.msp_resources RES,
    pub.msp_tasks Task
    Assn_Sav.RES_UID = RES.RES_UID and
    Assn_Sav.Proj_uid = Proj.PROJ_UID and
    Assn_Sav.Task_uid = Task.TASK_UID and

    You will get the details of the tasks and the users for whom the WASSN_ACTUALS_PENDING  is set to NULL.

    If the above query provides any result downloaded the Projtool from the link and do a full publish of the impacted projects.
